Aboriginal and Environmental Studies
Lutanda offers a range of school curriculum based programs that provide interactive learning tailored to meet the needs of your school. Lutanda Yarramundi specialises in Aboriginal Studies and Environmental Programs. One of these programs can be the central focus for your camp, or combined with our range of activities to develop an Adventure Program.
Aboriginal Studies
Our local aboriginal community is keen to share their experiences and history with the students of NSW.
Our local tribal people, the Darug people had two main tribes, coastal and inland. Local members of the Darug people share various parts of their history, culture and methods of survival.
They include the following:
- Overview of Aboriginal Culture, local to Yarramundi and Yellowmundi
- The Darug people (local tribe)

- Aboriginal tool kit
- Sustainable living - minimal impact
- Questions on contemporary issues
- Native Title - how it works and government partnership
- Boomerang and Spear throwing
- Painting and Dance
- Campfire - traditional stories and dance
Environmental Programs
Lutanda Yarramundi recognizes that the environment is a major concern to our community. Our aim is to develop an ever evolving environmental program that is self-sustaining and encourages ‘green learning’.
From our Eco garden to our River watch program we explore the different ways in which we can identify and learn about our environment and how it can impact our lives.
